Pastor Metzger

Pete Metzger became our pastor in July 2018 after serving a congregation in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for 5 years. He is a 2013 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin where he earned his Masters degree in Biblical Languages and Pastoral Ministry, after completing a four-year Bachelor of Arts program at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.

He and his wife, Lydia, love living in Alberta where they can enjoy classical music at the Winspear Theatre one day and hike to the top of Eiffel Peak the next!

They are blessed with two small boys - Franklin and James - proud dual citizens both of America and Canada, but, much more importantly, of earth and heaven by the grace of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism.

Vicar Marquardt

Jon Marquardt was assigned to serve as our vicar in May 2025 as part of his third year of pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin. Before that, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Languages from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Next fall, he will return to the States to complete his studies.

He and his wife, Kristin, feel so blessed to call St. Albert their home for a year. They enjoy attending live performances, checking out YEG’s many festivals, and exploring the beautiful province of Alberta whenever they can.
