Join Us This Christmas!

Jesus has been God from eternity, holy and majestic. When we look tenderly at the holy infant, we are looking at the same God who once told the prophet Moses, “No one may see me and live.” Yet, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds all saw their holy God and survived. How? God became human, hiding his glory within flesh, so that he could come to us without instilling fear or dread.

A famous theologian once said, “We are to think of the Lord’s birth, where the Word became flesh, not as a past event which we recall, but as a present reality on which we gaze.” It’s not that Christ the Savior was born. It’s that Christ the Savior is born.

Be our guest! We are pleased to offer two opportunities for you to celebrate with us this Christmas!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship at 7:00pm

Christmas Day Festival Worship at 11:00am

Sunday Bible Hour

September to May, from 11:15 - 12:00pm

After church, everyone is invited to stay for an extra hour to dig deeper into the comforting truths we hear in worship so that we can all grow in our faith together.

For children 2-12 years old, we have 3 separate, age-appropriate Sunday School classrooms where they will spend time hearing Bible stories, singing, making crafts, and playing games. Our dedicated teachers foster a nurturing environment centered on the life-saving truth of the Gospel. Our goal is for your children to experience the peace of knowing that Jesus lived and died for them. Additionally, our teachers are committed to equipping parents with tools necessary to spiritually nurture their children at home.

For teens and adults, we offer a diverse range of biblical and topical studies designed to deepen our understanding of what the Bible says and what it means for our lives. Our Pastor draws out details and insights that bring aspects of the Bible into sharper focus. It’s a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds are encouraged to engage with God's Word and connect with one another.

Advent Worship Series

Do you remember the feeling when someone important is about to arrive at your place? It’s a mixture of anticipation and excitement and nervousness. Did you make all the correct preparations? Will the person be happy to see you? When and how will the person arrive? Will there be any surprises?

During these weeks before Christmas, we anticipate the imminent arrival of Jesus. He’s an important person! We are about to celebrate his birth. He could return on judgment day at any time. But in worship we realize that he impacts our lives when the Bible is read and when the sacraments are administered. Suddenly we feel the excitement of an imminent arrival.

Join us for “Imminent Arrival”, our Advent worship series!

December 7 - Imminent Arrival of the Judge

December 14 - Imminent Arrival of the Messiah

December 21 - Imminent Arrival of Emmanuel

Standing on the Rock; Sharing the Living Water

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church exists to help everyone stand more firmly on the Spiritual Rock, Jesus, so that we faithfully and energetically share his lifegiving water with the community and the world through our words and actions.

Nestled in historic Sturgeon Heights, St. Peter’s has been serving communities in Central Alberta for more than 50 years. Our namesake, the Apostle Peter, was one of Jesus’ disciples famous for being the first to confess that Jesus is the Saviour of the World. We share Peter’s confession and conviction and we want to share the wonderful news of Jesus with you too! The highlight of our ministry is weekly worship on Sundays at 10:00am. Schedule a visit with our pastor to learn more, or just stop on in!
